Hello all you holiday fanatics out there! We don’t know about you but Christmas evokes such a sense of joy for us. Whether it be the smell of the delicious baked goods, the ambiance of the holiday lights and decorations or spending time with your loved ones. We just love all the Christmas magic and how it makes us feel. So, it’s not a huge surprise that we enjoy making and giving Christmas decor as gifts. We recently learned how to embroider so we chose to make some embroidered Christmas tree skirts for a couple of family members as a part of a “Christmas tree in a box” that we’ve been working on.

Step 1: Gather your supplies:
- A tree skirt ( we purchased ours because we were already making a lot… but you could definitely make your own)
- Heat erase pens
- Heat gun or hair dryer ( to erase the pen marks)
- Embroidery floss and needles
- Scissors
- A large embroidery hoop ( whatever size works with the size of your tree skirt)
Step 2: Decide on your design. We were matching ornaments that we had already made.

Step 3: Attach your embroidery hoop to your tree skirt where your wanting your image. You can always move it to other locations if you want to add more to other parts of your tree skirt.
Step 4: Draw your designs with your heat erase pens. We use these pens so we can erase any visible pen marks after were done embroidering. Also, it comes in handy if you draw something that your not 100% happy with or you change your mind. They are handy to have for so many different things!

Step 5: Chose your embroidery floss colors.

Step 6: Embroider your heart out! Take your time and really have fun with it. We’ve found that the more we enjoy our projects the better they come out in the end.

Step 7: Erase away all your pen marks. We like to use our heat gun because it’s a little quicker but you could also use a hair dryer.

That’s it! Now you have a one of a kind Christmas tree skirt. We looked for tree skirts first and didn’t find anything that we loved. So, instead of settling for something that we weren’t going to be happy with we instead decided to make our own. These can be customized to any theme, color scheme or personal style. Happy embroidering!
