Hello all you spooky season lovers! We’ve undoubtedly have had a pillow addiction for many years… and we don’t think that’s changing anytime soon! We happened to have this old body pillow that we didn’t need anymore so we decided to use the fabric and stuffing to make some new pillows. Since the Halloween season was almost upon us we decided that we NEEDED some adorable ghost toss pillows!

Step 1: Gather your supplies:

  • Fabric of choice ( We used the fabric from our body pillow that we washed first)
  • Poly fill stuffing
  • Paper for a stencil
  • Pencil and Scissors
  • Needle and thread and/ or a sewing machine
  • Black felt
  • Fabric glue

Step 2: Create your ghost stencil. It can be any ghostly shape you’d like it to be.

Step 3: Trace your stencil and cut out your shape. You’ll need two pieces for each pillow your making. One for the front of the ghost and one for the back.

Step 4: Using a sewing machine or a needle and thread sew your two pieces together with the front of the fabric touching. You will need to leave a small hole not sewn so you can fit your hand in to stuff your pillow. Then turn your pillow right side out.

Step 5: Fill your pillow with your Poly fill stuffing. We used stuffing from our old body pillow. We don’t like to waste anything!

Step 6: Sew the rest of your pillow closed using your needle and thread.

Step 7: Cut out some eyes and a mouth for your ghost. You can make your ghost face any way you’d like it to be; it can be a happy ghost, a scary ghost or even a surprised ghost. There is no wrong answer!

Step 8: Using your fabric glue attach your eyes and mouth to your ghost.

That’s it! Now you have a cute ghost toss pillows perfect for any spooky space! We love when we are able to take something that we were just going to toss and turn it into something new that we will actually use. That’s a win in our book! Happy haunting!
