Hello to all the crafting enthusiasts out there! Isn’t summer great? Whether your barbecuing in the backyard or on vacation at the beach summer can be so fun! So, is it a big surprise that we try to bring some of those vibes indoors so we can experience that feeling all the time? This garland will help you do just that.

Step 1: Gather your supplies:
- Felt
- Fabric scissors
- Needle and thread
- Sewing clips ( These are optional but they help keep everything attached while things are gluing)
- Fabric glue
- Twine or ribbon of your choice
- Polly fill
- Paper for stencils

Step 2 : Create your stencils. You will need to make them for the body of your shapes and any for the detailed parts you’d like within your shapes. For example we made a stencil for the circular part of the beach ball and then we made some for the different sections of the beach ball creating those classic color stripes.

Step 3 : Using your heat erase pen trace your stencil onto your felt. You will need two pieces for each shape, a front and a back. With your fabric glue attach any detailed pieces to the front of your shape.

Step 4 : Sew around the edge of your shape leaving a small space open so you can fill with your polly fill.
Step 5 : Fill your shape with polly fill.
Step 6 : Finish sewing your shape.

Step 7 : Once all your sewing is finished layout your shapes in the order you’d like them to be in and cut your twine or ribbon to the right length.

Step 8 : Using your fabric glue attach all your shapes to your twine or ribbon. We used some small sewing clips to keep everything attached while the glue is drying.

That’s it! Now you have an adorable and one of a kind summer garland that will transport you to the beach! Can you feel that ocean breeze? We can! Of course this technique can be made into any shape, theme or color. We’ve done several over the years, they never disappoint. Happy summer everyone!
