Upcycled Popcorn Tin BBQ Smoker Pellet Bin

Hello crafters! Doesn’t everything taste better on the BBQ? We sure think so! So, when we needed to find something awesome to do with our stash of empty popcorn tins this idea came to mind. Who doesn’t want a cute smoker pellet bin instead of just an ugly bag laying around?

Step 1: Gather your supplies:

Step 2: Clean your popcorn tin. For better adherence we went ahead and did a gentle scuff sanding aswell.

Step 3: Spray your popcorn tin with spray paint to create your base for your design. It took 2 coats to get good coverage.

Step 4: Once your paint is dry use your pencil or pen to draw out your design.

Step 5: Start painting your design, this took us a couple coats to achieve the vibrant look we were going for.

Step 6: Once your paint is dry use your clear coat of choice and seal your popcorn tin. We used a spray semi-gloss by Rostoleum.

Step 7: Attach your handle to the lid of your popcorn tin. Drill a couple holes and use the hardware that came with your handle.

That’s it! Now you have a unique and super cool place to store your smoker pellets. Not only is it functional it is also so cute! It’s perfect for any grill enthusiast in your life. This would make an awesome gift! It is completely customizable and can be made to match any bbq lovers personal style. Happy crafting everyone!
